Workspaces are a blend of my two favourite things: practical and pretty. And even though these elements can sometimes seem at odds, here’s a way you can marry the two. Firstly, the practical: you need storage – a grand desk with handy drawers and a few baskets will do the trick, plus a set of shelves. The ones featured here are my ultimate. Designed and made by my poppa in the 1970s and recently remade by my dad, they’re changeable and make for a fantastic tactile moodboard. As for the pretty, surround yourself with items that are creatively nurturing, whether artwork, ceramics or some intriguing dried arrangements.

Homestyle HQ a loft-style warehouse space, where a creative corner can be divided off with a blush-coloured curtain. A large table to use for production meetings, bouncing around ideas and working on joint projects is key, and we’re forever updating our moodboards to reflect the themes for each issue, so here we’ve installed a wire grid on which we can clip swatches, samples and imagery. Raw materials, a healthy chair obsession and plant life are our other office must-haves.
