Neon florals – Our inspiration was a contemporary take on the traditional romantic floral table setting, contrasting bold neon colours with delicate pastels and using floral displays in bell jars.
Lay it out – Place setting
1. Use a plain white linen cloth and a bright yellow table runner (we made ours) as a backdrop for this colourful setting.
2. Place a range of glass vessels through the centrepiece, some holding individual stems and others smaller clusters of spring flowers beneath glass bell jars. Try hanging flowers (see Style Tips below).
3. Pour a brightly coloured punch or pink champagne into a decanter.
Stack a white dinner plate and a pink scalloped side plate below the dessert jar. Tie the spoon and napkin together with a neon pink cardboard tie, stapled behind.
Style Tips – Fresh ideas for flowers
Instead of a traditional bouquet of flowers, try individual stems in test-tube glass vases, or a mix of upcycled jars, which creates a sense of structure through the centre of the table. Alternate stem heights to create variation. Try hanging individual stems in a bell jar — tie thin cotton around the base of each stem and tie to a horizontal stem to suspend the flower within the jar.
