A new home for Nodi

The Auckland-based makers of beautiful natural rugs have opened a new atelier, so you can really get a feel for their collections.

Founded by Olivia Moon in 2015, Nodi began as a quest to develop a meaningful product made from natural materials. During her time studying textile design at Milan’s International Institute of Design, Olivia was instilled with a passion for the craft of knotted rugs (Nodi means ‘knots’ in Italian), which led to a six-month journey through India, on which she explored the handcrafted manufacturing process. Her trip saw her establish a relationship with certified GoodWeave factories, where today skilled artisans use time-honoured techniques to create Nodi’s sustainable rugs.
Located in Auckland’s Ponsonby, the new atelier houses Nodi’s full range of wool and jute rugs, as well as samples of their bespoke bamboo silk range. Here, you can select the perfect colour, texture and size to fit your space.
“Floors are often forgotten about in the home, yet they’re the anchor,” says Olivia. “We believe layering a space with natural rugs not only adds warmth and texture, but also creates a place where people can unwind and connect.”
Pop into Nodi’s new showroom from Monday to Saturday, or head online to book an appointment with their in-house interior designer for one-on-one advice.
